KINDERGARTEN 2021/2022

Dear Kindergarten Families:

You should have received an email letting you know your CHILD’s SCHEDULE (A OR B), classroom number and child’s teacher.

Bienvenue and Welcome to École Marlborough School.  I hope that everyone is well, and that you have had time to make joyful memories with family and friends over the summer. This is a very special time for our Kindergarten students and families, and we look forward to working with you and your child in the upcoming school year.

On their first day of class, students will take home a Welcome to Kindergarten bag that will include a booklet created by our Kindergarten teachers that explains the curriculum and what a typical day of Kindergarten looks like. Please review the booklet which is also available online on the Marlborough website and feel free to ask questions when you meet with your classroom teacher.  A reminder that Kindergarten students do not attend Tuesday, September 7th or Wednesday, September 8th

When determining your child’s placement, The Kindergarten team, Learning Support staff, English Language Learners’ team along with the Vice-principal and Principal use our educational experience and expertise to develop classes.  Classes will be confirmed by September 20th

Your assigned teacher will reach out to about an in-person Welcoming Conversation date and time. Please ensure masks are worn when meeting with your Kindergarten teacher.

Please feel free to contact the school for additional details.

Burnaby Public Library

Below is information from our local Burnaby Public Library regarding great books for your child.  As a former Teacher-Librarian, I cannot stress the importance of developing strong reading habits as early as possible.  Reading, rhyming, singing, and talking can profoundly influence literacy and language development and the foundations for all other learning. So take some time and sit and read regularly with your child! 😊
