Welcome Marlborough Familes

Welcome to another year at Marlborough Elementary!  We are looking forward to welcoming all students back and meeting our new students and families. For families in Kindergarten, you will be receiving a subsequent communication regarding gradual entry over the coming days. As a community of learners, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all our members. Our District is taking direction from Fraser Health Authority and is in regular contact with them, as well as the Ministry of Health and Education. As we prepare to welcome students back to our school in September, our priority is to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all.

Health and Safety Updates:

• West building: Grade 3-7 students are required to wear a mask indoors.
• East building: Kindergarten – Grade 3 students are encouraged to wear a mask indoors.
• We will continue with daily cleaning of frequently touched surfaces throughout the building and deep classroom cleaning in the evenings.
• Regular handwashing/sanitizing routines will continue for all staff, students and guests.
• Parents and caregivers must assess their child daily for symptoms of illness before  sending them to school and notify the school if they are remaining home.
• Students who become ill, or exhibit symptoms throughout the day, will be contacted for immediate pick up from the school.
• All students bring their own supplies and refrain from sharing them with others.
• Students are asked to bring their own food and are not permitted to share food in compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Students are encouraged to bring water from home – all water filling stations and fountains are open for student & staff use.

As we transition into a new school year, we ask for your patience and support while we learn and practice our new September routines and health and safety protocols. We are mindful of all our Marlborough Huskies returning to our buildings at the same time (see common bell schedule below). If you would like to connect with a staff member, we would appreciate you calling the office to make an appointment rather than entering the building.
